OpenAI expands ChatGPT Ads to 26 additional countries
OpenAI said ChatGPT Ads are now available in 26 additional countries, extending its stated availability to 89 countries worldwide. The company said more than 100,000 advertisers had run campaigns since the product launched just over eight months earlier. The Information reported that the platform had about 20,000 advertisers in late August. Ads appear only on ChatGPT Free and Go plans, while paid subscriptions remain ad-free. Advertisers in supported markets can buy placements through technology partners or the self-service Ads Manager.
OpenAI says advertising helps support free and low-cost access to ChatGPT. The expansion extends the availability of its advertising product and gives businesses in the newly supported markets an additional way to reach users.
More than 1.2 billion people use ChatGPT each week to explore ideas, compare options and make decisions. Ads can help people discover products and services that fit their needs, including options they might not have found otherwise.
