XREAL launches One Pro Plus AR glasses with 1,200-nit displays at $599
XREAL released the One Pro Plus AR glasses overseas on October 16, priced at $599. The headset uses dual 0.55-inch Sony Micro-OLED panels with peak brightness up to 1,200 nits, up from 700 nits on the previous generation, and features a redesigned nose-pad structure aimed at better facial fit and comfort during long viewing sessions. XREAL says the new model adds AI HDR for improved contrast, offers standard, cinema and reading display modes, and upgrades the built-in Real 3D engine to convert ordinary 2D content into spatial 3D at up to 60 FPS; other core hardware is largely unchanged, still using the company's in-house X1 spatial computing chip with a 57-degree field of view.
As AR glasses push toward the consumer market, this kind of iteration on display brightness and ergonomics suggests vendors are competing on hardware experience rather than new form factors.
