Grok Adds Alipay and UnionPay Subscription Payments for China
IT之家 reports, and says it verified, that Grok's subscription checkout now accepts Alipay and China UnionPay, with mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan selectable as regions. The outlet says Alipay first appeared as a grey-test option after Cursor (already supporting Alipay since April 9, 2025) was acquired by SpaceXAI, and was opened at scale only in recent days; checkout also lists Apple Pay, Google Pay and a $5 cashback for some bank-account payments. AIbase additionally reports a half-price first month for new subscribers and notes that X and Grok share a payment system, so X Premium can be bought with Alipay for Grok Plus-level access.
Local payment rails and mainland region options directly lower the barrier to subscribing to Grok in China, a user-facing change to a major AI assistant's availability rather than a model or capability update.
