Baseus releases PrimeSentinel U2 Pro camera with moving spotlight
Baseus has launched the PrimeSentinel U2 Pro outdoor security camera after showcasing it at IFA 2026 in September. It pairs a fixed top 3K camera with a 130-degree field of view and 8x digital zoom with a lower 3K pan-tilt camera and motorized spotlight. Baseus says the spotlight tracks people from three to eight meters away and vehicles at up to 19 mph, using two passive infrared sensors and AI recognition. Baseus also says AI analysis sends alerts and event summaries that distinguish people, pets, vehicles and package deliveries; Gizmodo notes the camera does not explicitly offer package detection, though cloud AI summaries can mention a package delivery. The camera comes with a detachable 3W solar panel and 7,800mAh battery, which Baseus says can provide up to a day of power from 40 minutes of sunlight; it supports microSD cards up to 512GB, has no cloud storage subscription, and is IP65 rated. Reports conflict on price and availability: IT之家 and cnBeta cite $269.99, Android Authority cites $279.99 on Amazon, and Gizmodo cites a $280 preorder shipping in early November; cnBeta also reports a European launch on October 15 at €269.99.
The U2 Pro shows AI subject recognition being used in a mainstream consumer security camera, but Baseus's tracking and detection claims are vendor-sourced, and Gizmodo says it is unanswered whether tracking runs on-device.
