Meta Acquires Multi-Agent Coding Startup Conductor
Meta Platforms has acquired AI coding startup Conductor, which confirmed on its website that it is joining Meta; the deal terms were not disclosed. Conductor's software runs multiple coding agents in isolated codebase copies for review and merging, while Conductor Cloud runs agents in sandboxed virtual machines that can work for hours and be monitored through an iPhone app. The company said more than 100,000 people use its products and is winding down new registrations, downloads and cloud services while local Mac app copies remain available until early 2027.
The acquisition gives Meta a multi-agent coding product already used by engineers at Meta, Google and Spotify, while Conductor's staged shutdown gives its users time to export data or move cloud workspaces to their own machines.
I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta.
We launched Conductor a lifetime ago, in the distant past of July 2025. Writing most of your code with agents (let alone a team of coding agents) felt crazy back then. You trusted us to come along for the ride, and we cannot thank you enough!
We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface. If you liked Conductor, you’re gonna love what’s coming. We’ll have something new for you to use early next year.
Conductor will keep working as normal till then, except for Conductor Cloud, which will shut down over the next few weeks. We’ve built an easy way to transfer Conductor Cloud workspaces to local, and we’re around to help make the transition as easy as possible. Reach out to[email protected]if you need anything.
Thank you again for your support!
