iOS 27 adds video apps and Siri AI to CarPlay, but only on newer iPhones

The updated Siri AI also reaches CarPlay, answering general knowledge questions and pulling personal context from mail, messages and calendar, but because CarPlay runs entirely through the iPhone, the feature is limited to iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 and later; an iPhone 14 still gets the mini player, progress bar and wallpapers but not the new Siri. The report adds that video support requires automaker implementation, so apps such as YouTube and Netflix may not work in every vehicle, and that Siri AI is not offered in the EU due to local regulations.
The report shows Apple tying the new Siri AI's availability to iPhone hardware generation and regional regulation, so CarPlay features now differ by device and market.
