IFA to expand robotics space at 2027 edition
Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH, said during a visit to Taiwan that the robotics area at the 2026 IFA show, which ended in September, drew heavy media and visitor attention and had to be temporarily closed twice because of crowding, so the organizers have decided to enlarge the robotics exhibition space for 2027. He called robotics one of the most closely watched areas at this year's show and cited German startup Neura Robotics, which is working with several Asian companies to improve robot learning and motion execution, while AMD decided to enlarge its booth on the strength of the event's industry energy. Lindner also said nearly all major brands launched AI-related software or product features this year, but that AI products lack a clear definition and some vendors simply relabel older features as AI, making AI-driven purchasing hard to measure precisely.
It shows consumer-electronics shows pushing robotics and AI from concept demos toward hands-on product experiences, while the organizer concedes the actual purchasing impact of AI is still hard to quantify.
