Developer unveils HolyArrs, an AI-built replacement for the *arr media stack
A developer posting as /u/CoderLuii on r/OpenAI introduced HolyArrs, a self-hosted app they say replaces Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Bazarr, Prowlarr, Seerr, SABnzbd and qBittorrent with one Netflix-style browse-and-request page for movies, TV shows and music. The developer says the app was built with AI coding tools against manuals the AI wrote for 36 existing apps, and that optional AI features include plain-language search, bring-your-own cloud or local models, and a built-in MCP server for assistants. HolyArrs is not yet public, is being run on the developer's own server, is planned as free and open source, and the developer is seeking beta testers.
It shows a lone developer using AI coding tools to attempt a one-app replacement for a widely used self-hosted media stack, though nothing has been independently verified because the software is not yet released.
| Hi, I'm developing an alternative to the *arr stack with AI coding tools that I called HolyArrs. It's one self-hosted app that replaces Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Bazarr, Prowlarr, Seerr, SABnzbd and qBittorrent, with a Netflix-style page for browsing and requesting. Why you might want to use HolyArrs: AI inside the app (all optional, off by default): HolyArrs also doesn't send anything about your library to us. Recommendations and metadata matching happen on your server. How I built it with AI: You might not want to use HolyArrs yet if you need it today. It isn't public yet, and I've been running it on my own server every day first. I've been in software and security for 10+ years, so I'd rather release something you can trust with your library than something rushed. It'll be free and open source. Looking for beta testers! If you run Jellyfin, Plex or Emby, especially if you: comment or DM me, and sign up on the site to get an email on launch day.
