Dongfeng outlines 2027 battery and end-to-end AI driver-assist plans
At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles conference in Beijing, Dongfeng Motor general manager Feng Changjun said the company's self-developed next-generation fast-charging hybrid solid-liquid battery will enter large-scale application in 2027, IT之家 reported. Dongfeng also said it is developing a new-generation driver-assistance system on a centralized SOA electrical/electronic architecture, built on a one-stage end-to-end large model with reinforcement learning, and plans to bring a series of new products to market in 2027. The company additionally cited work on a 400Wh/kg all-solid-state battery, a first 400kW hydrogen fuel-cell stack line and a 350Wh/kg solid-state battery sample vehicle tested in Mohe, with figures such as over 1,000 km range and 72% capacity retention at -30°C presented as company claims.
The announcement shows Dongfeng tying its 2027 product plans to an end-to-end large-model driver-assistance system and a fast-charging hybrid solid-liquid battery, though timelines and performance figures remain vendor claims.
