   Beijing energy plan requires all new computing centers to use green power

   Beijing’s municipal government has issued its 15th Five-Year Plan for a New Energy System, targeting a resilient, clean, low-carbon, intelligent and efficient energy system by 2030. According to 36Kr, the plan requires every new computing center to use 100% green electricity, lowers the target PUE for existing data centers to below 1.35, and promotes energy-saving and carbon-reduction upgrades to computing facilities, communication base stations and server rooms. It also supports R&D for perovskite solar cells and high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, as well as development of large-megawatt wind-turbine components.
