XREAL AURA launches as a wired Android XR glasses platform with Gemini
Google and XREAL launched the XREAL AURA, wired XR glasses powered by Android XR and paired with a separate compute puck, with Gemini integration for assistance across apps and the wearer’s surroundings. Launch pricing starts at $1,099 for the 12GB/256GB configuration, while the 16GB/512GB version costs $1,299; orders opened in the US, Canada, and South Korea, with shipments planned for mid-November.
AURA combines Google’s Android XR application ecosystem and Gemini with XREAL’s lightweight glasses design, but TechRepublic notes that real-world deployment, compatibility, and scaled business integration remain unverified.
