TVB and Red Fruit Begin Filming an ‘In the Line of Duty’ Spin-Off
TVB announced a partnership with Red Fruit Short Drama, with the first project being the spin-off “In the Line of Duty: The Royal Conspiracy.” Filming has begun in Hengdian, and the production team said it will apply the rigorous standards used for TVB’s major traditional dramas. The live-action Cantonese period short drama enters a market increasingly filled with AI-produced content, while TVB’s own AI short-drama efforts remain at an experimental stage.
The report describes the partnership as an expansion of TVB’s mainland strategy and notes that high-quality live-action period content has become scarcer as AI production expands in the short-drama market.
