TCL shows X5 AI 5G CPE with 7Gbps downlink and local multi-agent scheduling
TCL showcased its flagship X5 5G CPE at the Network X 2026 event in Vienna, according to IT之家. TCL markets the X5 as an integrated "AI 5G CPE" with natural-language interaction, AI network optimization, application-aware traffic control, proactive diagnostics and self-recovery, and an extensible AI service platform, aimed at homes and small businesses. The device supports 3GPP Release 18 with a theoretical peak downlink of 7.01 Gbps, uses an 8Rx radio architecture with four directional and four omnidirectional C-band antennas, and is claimed to deliver up to 51% higher downlink throughput than a 4Rx design; it also uses a unified agent architecture for local multi-agent scheduling with a built-in model and skill library and a unified runtime. All capability and performance figures come from TCL.
It shows a networking vendor embedding local agent scheduling and a model library directly into a home 5G CPE, though the AI features and throughput gains are currently vendor claims.
