China’s NEA Backs AI-Energy Integration in Guangdong Grid Push
36Kr reported that National Energy Administration chief Wang Hongzhi led a delegation to Guangdong on October 24 to discuss new power-system development with provincial authorities and China Southern Power Grid. The delegation visited three facilities covering power technology, energy storage, and grid operations. Wang called for AI-energy integration, market-based coordination between computing and power infrastructure, and coordinated development of main, distribution, and microgrids.
The remarks provide a policy signal for AI infrastructure and power-grid planning in Guangdong, although 36Kr reported no specific funding amount or implementation schedule.
