Nvidia RTX Spark laptops near launch at $2,599+, but who are they for?
Nvidia's RTX Spark laptops are moving into actual retail sales, with the first wave spanning Microsoft, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI and shipments starting in mid-October. Pricing starts at $2,599 for the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra and Asus ProArt P14, $2,799 for the ProArt P16, about $3,099 for the Lenovo Yoga 9n and roughly $3,299 for the MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+, putting them in mobile-workstation territory. Nvidia positions them as a "One PC" for AI development, content creation and gaming, highlighting 128GB of unified memory, CUDA and local agent workloads, though reporters at a San Francisco media hands-on were cautious about recommending them to ordinary buyers. The report also notes that Windows on Arm software compatibility still needs real-world testing, and that Nvidia is pushing methods such as AgentPerf-local and ComfyUI workloads to shift reviews from specs toward how long a task takes.
The first RTX Spark pricing and target audience will test whether a single machine for local AI, creative work and gaming has a real market.
