Reddit post says Nvidia and TCV joined Higgsfield’s Series B
A Reddit post says Nvidia and TCV joined Higgsfield’s Series B, following an August round that valued the AI video company at $5.4 billion. It says Higgsfield offers a small number of its own models but draws most usage from third-party models such as Kling and Veo. The post also cites Higgsfield’s claims of more than $1 billion in annual run rate and over 40 million users; the supplied source does not independently verify those figures or specify a year for the August round and September metrics.
The reported investment highlights capital interest in platforms that aggregate third-party AI video models. The post’s author argues that such aggregation can reduce the need to manage multiple providers and logins, reflecting a possible user preference for centralized access.
Saw the Higgsfield news this week and had to post about it somewhere where we could get a quality discussion going. Nvidia and TCV just joined their series B, on top of the august round that valued them at $5.4 billion. Higgsfield says it passed a billion dollars in annual run rate in september and has over 40 million users. they have a couple of models of their own, but most of what people use there is other companies’ models, kling, veo and the rest, all in one place.
a year ago everyone thought sora would own this. Openai had the best demo on the internet. now the sora app is gone, and the money is going to the companies sitting on top of everyone else’s models.
Honestly it makes sense from the user side. I do AI video for work and my setup is a mess. kling for some shots, seedance for others, argil to keep characters the same between episodes, elevenlabs for voice. nobody wants six logins. they want whatever makes the video come out right.
So is building the model the bad business now? feels like Openai built the engine and someone else is making the money selling the car (this is the best analogy I could find).
