Unofficial DLSS-NR-on-AMD 0.8.0 expands DLSS features to Radeon
Developer Daniel Blanco released the unofficial DLSS-NR-on-AMD 0.8.0 update, adding DLSS Super Resolution 4.5, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction and Neural Rendering support for Radeon GPUs. The mod supports RDNA 3 and RDNA 4, while RDNA 2 support remains experimental. Its NeuralHub interface handles installation, game detection, configuration and an in-game overlay. Community results are mixed: one Cyberpunk 2077 test on an RX 9070 XT reported no performance loss, while other users reported frame-rate declines of as much as 25%. Compatibility and visual fidelity are not guaranteed across games. Users must supply their own NVIDIA DLSS DLLs, and the mod cannot be used in games with anti-cheat systems.
The release expands access to several NVIDIA DLSS features on Radeon hardware, including neural rendering that the reports describe as having no direct AMD equivalent. However, the implementation remains unofficial and experimental, with variable performance and no comprehensive independent verification of visual quality.
