MacPaw launches Eney, a Mac-first proactive AI assistant
MacPaw released Eney on Oct. 15, a proactive AI assistant for Mac and iPhone that works across apps, files and the system calendar and surfaces suggested next steps for the user to approve. It is invoked via Option+W or a double-tap of Option and offers on-screen text selection, writing corrections, meeting transcription and notes, file organization and disk-space warnings, with integrations for Apple Mail, Calendar and Reminders plus Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira and Linear. MacPaw says Eney uses both local and cloud models, developed with Liquid AI for Apple hardware, and that its memory component Mnemos is still in development and currently only manages Eney's own memories. It ships with a 14-day trial with 10,000 credits and subscriptions from $14.99 to $49.99 per month, for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later.
Per the two reports, Eney is the first product built on MacPaw's proprietary AI stack and part of its plan to connect its previously standalone utilities through shared technology.

Today marks a milestone for MacPaw, as the company is releasing Eney, a proactive AI assistant that works across your apps, files, and system to help you get things done, following a development process that began back in 2019. Here are the details.
A bit of background
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to talk to Oleksandr Kosovan, founder and CEO of MacPaw, as he showed me Eney, the company’s Mac-first proactive AI assistant.
Eney isn’t a new idea. In fact, we have written about it on 9to5Mac a few times. However, as the underlying AI technology kept changing and evolving, Eney changed and evolved with it.
As Kosovan explained, Eney originated back in 2019 as an idea for simplifying MacPaw’s CleanMyMac through natural-language commands. Then came the LLM boom, which in turn gave way to the agentic AI boom.
