- Grok Bot deep dive: role-isolated memory, X search, main-Bot orchestration
A SSPAI Matrix author examines Grok Bot through two recent updates: the piece says Grok Bot can search X activity in real time without consuming quota, and relays Elon Musk's statement that Grok Bot will automatically route agent tasks to the best model, naming Opus 5.5, also without extra quota. The author argues its main difference from agent harnesses such as Codex, Claude Code and WorkBuddy is per-role isolation of instructions and long-term memory, a main Bot that dispatches work to specialist Bots (including group chats), and its own cloud computer that keeps logins and files. The article also says product lead Roman framed Grok Bot as a deliberately minimal tool for knowledge workers; most of this is the author's hands-on experience or relayed official and Musk claims.
少数派 Matrix · 🔥 4 - MacPaw launches Eney, a Mac-first proactive AI assistant
MacPaw released Eney on Oct. 15, a proactive AI assistant for Mac and iPhone that works across apps, files and the system calendar and surfaces suggested next steps for the user to approve. It is invoked via Option+W or a double-tap of Option and offers on-screen text selection, writing corrections, meeting transcription and notes, file organization and disk-space warnings, with integrations for Apple Mail, Calendar and Reminders plus Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira and Linear. MacPaw says Eney uses both local and cloud models, developed with Liquid AI for Apple hardware, and that its memory component Mnemos is still in development and currently only manages Eney's own memories. It ships with a 14-day trial with 10,000 credits and subscriptions from $14.99 to $49.99 per month, for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later.
9to5Mac · 🔥 0 - Every app is cramming in AI — and users are getting tired of it
A widely syndicated report from Mirror Studio examines user "AI fatigue" as apps of all kinds add AI features. It cites QuestMobile data showing that in 2025 the year-on-year growth in monthly per-user usage frequency for embedded AI plugins was 2.8 times that of standalone AI apps, with usage-time growth at 3.3 times, and points to examples such as WeChat's grey-test of the AI agent "Xiaowei" in June 2026 and China Mobile placing an AI assistant in the center of its bottom navigation bar. Product managers interviewed say companies build AI both to open new user paths and out of fear of falling behind, with lower integration barriers and model costs reducing the cost of trial and error, while users mainly object to AI that adds little value and cannot be turned off.
虎嗅 AI · 🔥 0 - AI labs are buying data from dead startups to train their models
MIT Technology Review reports that a new cohort of companies is selling defunct startups' digital assets to AI training buyers. SimpleClosure's Asset Hub helps founders sell code and workspace data from Google, Notion, Figma and Slack; CEO Dori Yona says it has handled more than 150 deals and expects to return over $10 million to startups by the end of 2026, with 47% of deals now including code or data sales, while rival Sunset is also growing its data resale business. The report says Google outbid data company Mercor in August in Spirit Airlines' bankruptcy, paying $10 million for about 100 million emails, 500 million Teams messages and 176,000 employee records, while firms such as Surge AI use such archives to build reinforcement-learning environments. Real archives avoid common errors in synthetic worlds, but the piece notes no company has published tests comparing real-world data training with alternatives, and pricing varies widely because valuations rest on uncertain "research theses". Privacy advocates and attorneys question the sales, and the report says proceeds typically go to senior creditors and investors rather than employees.
MIT Technology Review AI · 🔥 0 - a16z Top 100 AI apps: few pay for AI, but the top 1% spend about $900 a month
Andreessen Horowitz published the seventh edition of its Top 100 Gen AI Apps ranking, adding observed US consumer card spending data from YipitData panels for the first time. It says nearly half of US consumers use AI, but only about 4.5% had an active paid subscription to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude in August, and spending is extremely concentrated: the top 1% of payers account for nearly a fifth of observed spending at roughly $900 a month, versus about $25 for the typical paying user. ChatGPT leads web traffic at roughly double Gemini's and six times Claude's, with Claude now a clear third and roughly level with Gemini in paid US subscribers.
The Decoder · 🔥 0 - REA hits 120K GitHub stars as agents learn to reverse-engineer any app
REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) is an MIT-licensed TypeScript project by developer morluto that puts tools such as Ghidra, Hopper and IDA behind an MCP server so coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI can investigate software without source code. 36Kr reported the repository had about 120,000 GitHub stars by Oct 12, with growth surging after a 4.1.0 release on Oct 7 added mobile-app analysis, though other reports put the count at roughly 50,000–80,000. Documented examples include recovering a DX-Ball sound-panning routine as C code that passed 3,205 original x86 test cases, and tracing Notion's clipboard bridge; the community has since pointed it at Adobe and Google apps plus WeChat, Alipay and Douyin, though 36Kr notes those apps' core logic runs server-side behind packing, obfuscation and risk-control defenses.
开源中国 · 🔥 0 - a16z adds revenue ranking to Top 100 Gen AI Apps; half of top earners miss usage lists
a16z published the 7th edition of its Top 100 Gen AI Apps list, adding for the first time a Top 50 consumer AI ranking by monthly revenue; the usage-based Web and App lists added only 11 new products, the smallest change in three years. Revenue figures come from YipitData, which tracks card and receipt data from over 12 million US users, ranked by personal card payments to AI products in August 2026, with mainly NSFW-oriented products excluded. Of the 50 revenue leaders, 29 do not appear on the usage lists, and only ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Suno, Photoroom, Canva and Notion appear on all three; the piece profiles lesser-known earners including AI 3D platform Meshy, workflow tool n8n and Nous Research's open-source personal agent Hermes.
36氪 人工智能 · 🔥 0 - Meta brings its Muse AI agent to iPad as installs top 6.6 million
Meta announced on October 7 that its Muse assistant now has a dedicated iPad app, roughly a month after launching on iOS and Android on September 8. Installations have surpassed 6.6 million, according to estimates from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower. The update also adds small-business connectors such as Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, Zoom and Meta ad accounts, plus everyday connectors including Notion and Granola.
