Volkswagen China Begins L3 Road Testing in Hefei
Volkswagen Group China said it had received an L3 autonomous-driving road-test license in Hefei and begun real-road testing and data collection. The Next Web and Bloomberg also reported the approval, which allows the company to test in actual Hefei traffic. Volkswagen targets L3 technology readiness in 2027, while L3 capability delivery is planned as early as the second half of 2027.
The license gives Volkswagen Group China a regulatory basis to collect road data under an L3 testing framework, marking a concrete step toward its stated 2027 automation targets.

本次获牌是集团推进高阶自动驾驶落地的关键节点，标志着集团向 2027 年实现 L3 级自动驾驶技术就绪迈进的又一重要进展。2026 年 10 月 28 日，首届大众汽车集团（中国）技术日将在合肥举行，集中展示最新技术进展。
IT之家注意到，4 月 11 日，智能电动汽车发展高层论坛在北京举办，大众汽车集团执行副总裁、CARIAD 中国首席执行官韩三楚表示：智能化是用户选择要素，大众汽车围绕中国用户核心诉求，快速构建开发和迭代的能力。大众汽车将于 2027 年实现 L3 级有条件自动驾驶，2029 年实现 L4 级自动驾驶。
地平线与大众汽车集团今年 7 月宣布，通过 CARIAD 与地平线的合资公司酷睿程 (CARIZON) ，大众汽车集团将进一步深化与地平线在 AI 基座大模型领域的技术合作。按照规划，大众汽车集团 L3 级自动驾驶能力最快将于 2027 年下半年启动交付。
