HumanLayer joins Factory, with open-source plans announced
Factory announced that HumanLayer is joining the company, describing the move as part of an acquisition. Factory plans to open-source HumanLayer, invite its users to Factory, and keep the existing platform available during a transition period that supports data export, migration, or self-hosting. Features such as multiplayer tasks, workstreams, and in-app collaboration on agent-generated plans and documents are expected to be added to Factory in the coming weeks.
The combination could expand Factory’s enterprise coding-agent offering with HumanLayer’s team-based workflows, while the open-source plan gives existing users transition and self-hosting options.
