CopilotKit releases OpenBot, an open-source self-hosted AI coworker platform
CopilotKit's OpenBot is an open-source template for AI coworkers that run inside a company's own infrastructure via Docker Compose, with data in PostgreSQL and no model bundled in. Each coworker gets its own browser with separate logins, its own files, and only explicitly granted tools, with authorization decided before an action and the action recorded afterward. Any agent exposed through the AG-UI interface can be plugged in, and a governed MCP catalogue includes Google Drive, Notion, and research providers such as Parallel, Exa and Firecrawl. The repository is MIT licensed, in beta, and not published as a dependency package, so the documentation itself notes rough edges and expected changes.
OpenBot offers a self-hosted, permissioned alternative to hosted AI assistants, and its per-coworker browser sessions, pre-action authorization and audit trail address governance concerns that the project's comparison to ChatGPT, Claude or Grok does not independently substantiate.
Open-source AI coworkers that each get a computer of their own: a browser, files and tools, with every action decided before it happens and recorded after. Bring any AG-UI agent.

OpenBot
The AI assistant your company can actually own. Same shape as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, with one difference that matters: it runs on your infrastructure and you can change anything about it. Any agent stack, through AG-UI.
