ING Estimates ASML's Direct Contribution to Dutch Economy at 1.6% This Year
ING economists estimate that ASML's direct contribution to the Dutch economy will reach 1.6% this year, up from 1.3% in 2025, TechNews reported. The report says ASML and its surrounding industrial ecosystem have given the Netherlands a key position in the AI-driven technology boom. ING researchers also warned that the Dutch economy is becoming increasingly dependent on a single company, drawing a comparison with Finland's past reliance on Nokia. TechNews cited Reuters for the claim that ASML equipment is indispensable for advanced chip manufacturing and that AI demand helped lift the company's market value to €547 billion.
The estimate shows that ASML and its industrial ecosystem are central to the Netherlands's position in the AI-driven technology boom, while ING's warning highlights the country's growing concentration risk around one company.
