Super Micro raises FY2027 Q1 guidance on AI demand, shares jump 16% after hours
Super Micro Computer sharply raised its preliminary forecasts for the first quarter of fiscal 2027 on Tuesday, October 20, citing continued strong AI datacenter demand, according to TechNews. The company now expects revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, up from an earlier $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion range and above the $15.23 billion LSEG analyst consensus, while gross margin guidance rose to 12% to 12.5% from 10.4% to 10.8%. The stock closed the regular session at $32.47 and climbed 16.35% to $37.78 after hours; full quarterly results are scheduled for November 3.
The raised outlook suggests AI datacenter spending is still flowing strongly to server suppliers, even as the report notes that market worries over rising AI financing costs and longer payback periods had recently hit tech shares.
