Banned influencer Ququ returns via AI advice app, ~$560K in six months
According to a New Weekly feature republished by Huxiu and Cyzone, an affiliated company of the multi-platform-banned relationship influencer "Ququ Danüren" launched Meiren Zhizhao, an AI emotional-consulting app that bundles chat analysis, reply scripts and conflict rehearsal into an always-available chatbot fronted by an avatar called "Mei Zhuzhu" described as her AI stand-in. The app gives three free questions, then charges 199 yuan a month, 569 yuan a quarter or 1,999 yuan a year, and pays users a 15% commission for referrals that convert to paid orders. Qimai's iOS estimates put the app at about 230,000 downloads and roughly $560,000 (about 3.75 million yuan) in revenue in its first six months worldwide, as of Oct 13. The report also quotes an AI practitioner saying such apps are cheap to build, likely relying on prompting or light fine-tuning of a general model to mimic a style, and cites users who found the advice extreme.
The report argues that packaging a strongly opinionated relationship methodology into a cheap AI product reaching wider audiences makes confident AI answers look like authoritative judgments.
