Huawei details ADS 5 Max, Pro and SE hardware and feature differences
Huawei has published on its official site how the three versions of its Qiankun ADS 5 driver-assistance system differ, according to IT之家. ADS Max gets an 896-line dual-path image-grade lidar and is the only version with roaming cruise assist (RCA) and park-to-park functions, while ADS Pro uses in-cabin laser vision Limera and ADS SE has no lidar. All three offer highway navigation assist NCA, with Max and Pro adding urban and campus NCA, and the cameras number 11, 11 and 10 respectively. Huawei says upgrading from ADS 4 Max/Pro/SE to the corresponding ADS 5 versions carries no hardware limitation.
The disclosure clarifies which capabilities, such as RCA and park-to-park, are exclusive to the top ADS 5 tier, giving buyers and automakers a concrete hardware-to-feature map for Huawei's driver-assistance line-up.
