Shanghai embodied intelligence skills contest set for Oct 23-25 with 9 tracks
QbitAI reports that the International Embodied Intelligence Skills Competition's review round will run in Shanghai from Oct 23 to 25. Built on more than 1,000 embodied-AI application scenarios collected nationwide by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the contest sets nine tracks — including manufacturing, inspection, maintenance, warehousing, food retail, healthcare, safety, emergency response and cultural tourism — with 23 events and a target of over 1,000 teams. Organizers say scoring relies on real sites, real job tasks and real operational data, using a 100-point rubric covering task execution, embodied data collection and feedback, autonomous intelligence and innovation, with adjusted coefficients so humanoid, quadruped, wheeled and teleoperated entries can compete. All 23 events carry cash prizes, winners are offered investment intent at the tens-of-millions-of-yuan level plus financing guidance, and results feed into GDPS, a Dubai Middle East AI exhibition and WAIC 2027.
By turning companies' real job tasks and operating data into test questions and planning regular post-contest field training, the event is a concentrated check of embodied AI's deployment readiness.
