XTX quant trader bets heavily on AI compute
XTX, the quantitative trading company founded by Alex Gerko, uses machine learning and neural networks to predict prices across more than 53,000 financial instruments, according to 36Kr’s republication of 投中网. The report says its research relies on a supercomputer with 25,000 AI chips, while the firm announced plans in 2025 to invest more than €1 billion in five Finnish data centers. It also cites 2025 UK entity filings showing combined revenue of about £3.93 billion for XTX’s three main UK operating entities.
XTX illustrates how AI compute and infrastructure spending have become central competitive resources for quantitative trading firms.
AI造富的名单上，又添了一位千亿富豪。
《星期日泰晤士报》近期发布的2026年英国富豪榜中，被称为"数学家"的亚历克斯·格尔科（Alex Gerko），以160.06亿英镑（约合1417亿元人民币）的身家，位列第八。
根据榜单估算，这位英国富豪，身家在一年内涨了72.61亿英镑（约643亿元）。算下来，格尔科的资产，平均每天增值1989万英镑（约1.76亿元）。
撑起这份身家的，是格尔科创办的量化交易公司XTX。目前，XTX已经跻身全球头部做市商之列，也是英国最赚钱的私营公司之一，一组人效数据可以证明它的赚钱效率：公司目前仅300个员工，人均营收却超过1个亿。
作为新一代量化交易公司，XTX与梁文锋的幻方量化都成立在2015年，在AI算力上的烧钱做法也如出一辙。据金融时报2024年的报道，XTX的研究工作由位于冰岛的一台超级计算机完成，为此，XTX在2.5万个AI芯片上，花费了超过1.5亿英镑（折合人民币超13亿元）。
