BAIC Xingtan 5X logs 17,876 pre-orders in 24 hours; EV version debuts Huawei ADS 5 Pro
IT之家 reports that Beijing Off-Road unveiled its new Xingtan brand and opened pre-sales for its first model, the Xingtan 5X, starting at 139,900 yuan across seven variants. The pure-electric version is described by the maker as the first boxy EV to carry Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Pro, which uses an in-cabin solid-state lidar behind the windshield plus 11 cameras, three 4D millimeter-wave radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, 27 sensors in total. Citing several bloggers rather than the company, IT之家 said pre-orders passed 17,876 units within 24 hours; the electric version has a 227 kW rear motor, an 81.9 kWh battery, 625 km CLTC range and 800V charging (30–80% in 14.5 minutes), while the plug-in hybrid pairs a 105 kW 1.5T engine with 200 kW single- or 400 kW dual-motor layouts, and a 2.0T gasoline version has been filed but not yet launched.
The launch is a concrete example of Huawei's ADS 5 Pro driver-assist system with in-cabin solid-state lidar being packaged into a boxy off-road-styled SUV starting at 139,900 yuan, though the 'first' designation is the manufacturer's own claim.
