CXMT validates sixth-generation 4F² DRAM platform samples
CXMT said its sixth-generation process technology platform, based on the 4F² vertical-channel DRAM architecture, has completed engineering-sample validation. The company previously expected to launch a new DDR5 RDIMM product incorporating 4F² technology for servers by the end of the year. cnBeta cited industry practice to explain that engineering-sample validation indicates the platform's core performance targets have been met on real wafers, while client validation remains before volume production.
IEEE IRDS identifies the transition from 6F² to 4F² as a promising way to maintain cost trends as DRAM cell scaling becomes more difficult, making CXMT's validation relevant to advanced memory production and server supply.
