  1. Reddit user reports Dot ignored requested model settings

A Reddit user said Dot did not reliably follow instructions to use Sol High for routine work and Sol Medium for storage tasks. After a desktop app update, the user could see task settings showing Astra Ultra for routine tasks, but could not identify the models or reasoning settings Dot had used earlier or obtain a proper per-task usage breakdown.

  2. User finds Claude Duet useful, with channels and scoped access

An unaffiliated Hacker News commenter says Claude Duet feels more useful than other personal-assistant harnesses they have tried, citing fast responses, channel-based session organization, concise replies, and per-channel GitHub repository access. The writer also notes that Duet remains in beta, with occasional invisible threads and repository-access attachment failures, while acknowledging that Muse may suit different users better.

  3. A Note-Based Workflow for Personalized Agent Recommendations

A workflow shared by a flomo Agent user asks a memory-enabled agent to select exactly three items each day to read, watch or listen to in Chinese. The first two should address the user’s current concerns based on recent conversations without repeatedly staying on one topic, while the third should broaden exposure to areas such as art, design, games, music, humanities, nature and practical disciplines. Each recommendation should include a title, a verified original link, a brief description and why it is worth the user’s attention. The workflow also calls for checking accessible recent recommendations and conversations, avoiding content the user has explicitly read, distinguishing source findings from personal interpretation, and disclosing access limitations. The author says they have used it in flomo Agent with good results and that it can be used by memory-enabled agents such as grokbot or dot.

  4. OpenAI dev account launches cooking show "COOKED" built around Codex

36Kr/Xinzhiyuan reports that OpenAI's developer account launched a kitchen-themed show called "COOKED", in which guests dictate requirements to Codex (running GPT-6-Astra ultra fast) and Codex writes an 8-bit pixel-style ramen game that is later installed on a ModRetro handheld. The episode also demos the always-on "dot" agent introduced at DevDay, which turns photos of ingredients into a recipe in a ChatGPT Space, and a voice sous-chef powered by the full-duplex GPT-Live-1 that does not interrupt when a speaker pauses. A sponsored segment promotes the refreshed Codex CLI, with a full-screen interface, multi-agent monitoring and direct terminal speech, alongside Codex cloud tasks that keep running after the laptop is closed. The episode aired on day 15 of Codex lead Tibo's pledge to ship one improvement daily for 28 days or reset all user quotas, and comments flooded in asking for a reset, with some users saying ChatGPT quotas drain too fast to justify $200.

  5. Hands-on: Meta Muse vs ChatGPT Dot across Chinese apps

A hands-on comparison by 字母AI, republished by 钛媒体 and 36氪, tested Meta's Muse against Dot inside ChatGPT on tasks including adding Apple Calendar events, syncing health data, cleaning a 126 mailbox, posting to social media, finding a restaurant on Dianping, picking shoes on JD and building a shareable five-person travel expense ledger. Muse completed the calendar and health tasks from an iPhone after a single authorization prompt and batch-deleted 191 matching emails; Dot could not operate the iPhone calendar directly and needed a connected Mac, but it spotted a timestamp inconsistency in an email and drafted a reply, and it delivered a ledger that recalculated correctly and synced edits made by a friend, while Muse's ledger reverted on refresh and could not sync. The review cites a Similarweb estimate of about 2.18 million daily active users for Muse on October 5, and notes both agents still stumble on Chinese sites that require logins and CAPTCHAs; the reviewer also acknowledges that in some tasks the two ran in different environments, with Dot using the user's Mac and Muse a cloud computer.

  6. OpenAI's dot agent reportedly burns 300K tokens a day with no prompts

TechNews, citing a report from The Register, says AI agent security and governance firm Geordie has been continuously testing dot, the always-on personal AI agent OpenAI launched in September, and found it consumes large amounts of tokens even when the user issues no instructions. Geordie AI officer Hanah-Marie Darley said that with only read-only permissions and no connected personal apps, email or Slack, dot generated 155 separate activity sequences and used more than 300,000 tokens in a day, starting agents on its own — running at least a user-facing primary agent plus a background agent that gathers data and can spawn sub-agents as needed. She estimated that dot running on OpenAI's Astra model consumed about 200,000 tokens at roughly US$5–10 per day, and advised companies not to give agents personal information they would not send by email or let them use a personal credit card.

  7. OpenAI Dot vs Meta Muse: two agent philosophies

TechNews compared the new AI agents from OpenAI and Meta. OpenAI's Dot targets work scenarios and is built on the GPT-6 Astra model; each Dot gets its own cloud compute and browser, can run multiple projects at once, and connects to more than 4,000 app plugins plus platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams. The report says Dot is expensive and gated: individuals need at least the $100-per-month Pro 100 plan, Business Premium costs $100–125 per user per month, and it is currently available only to eligible users outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. Meta's Muse is positioned as a personal life assistant that handles email, restaurant bookings, form filling, price comparison and online shopping, supporting Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, Instacart, Expedia and Shopify; it runs on a dedicated, isolated cloud virtual machine and always asks for user authorization before sensitive actions such as sending mail or making payments. Muse offers a free tier with usage limits plus $20 and $100 paid tiers, and has launched first in the US and Canada.

  8. OpenAI says Jev inspired its Decisions API, built in about a week

In a Latent Space podcast interview, OpenAI's computer-use product and engineering lead Ari Weinstein and API product lead Nikunj Handa discussed the DevDay (Sept 29) launches: Dot, GPT-6.1 Sol, computer use in the Agents API, and the Decisions API. Handa said the Decisions API was inspired by Jev and was not originally planned; the team had a working prototype in about a week, without retraining a model — reusing Luna weights, constraining outputs to structured results and optimizing first-decision latency for fast classification tasks such as support-ticket triage, and pairing with GPT Live. Weinstein said the biggest improvement in computer use over the past year is that agents now debug and retry better, and can act via page structure, accessibility data and Playwright or by writing code rather than only clicking through screenshots.

  9. DoorDash CEO Tony Xu: AI agents will increase demand for human labour

DoorDash co-founder and CEO Tony Xu said at Wave by Vento in Turin that AI agents have probably already overtaken humans in the number of things they do on the internet, and that because they favour recurring tasks with a physical component — shopping, eating, picking up or returning items — more agents will mean more demand for physical delivery networks and for human labour. He pointed to DoorDash's ordering agent launched inside Apple Messages in September, its Dot delivery robot now running in Phoenix (which he said has made live deliveries to tens of thousands of customers) and its drone system unveiled in September. Xu said the most important piece is the platform behind them, which decides for each order whether a land robot, a drone or a human Dasher takes it — and a person and a robot can share one route.
