   Tencent launches Tenlai speech model family with ASR, TTS and live translation

   Tencent announced on October 29 at its Global Digital Ecosystem Conference that it is releasing the Tenlai speech-model family: Tenlai-ASR v1.0 for speech understanding, Tenlai-TTS v1.0 for speech generation, and Tenlai-LiveTranslate v1.0 for real-time cross-language communication. The models are already running across Tencent Meeting, Yuanbao, Sogou Input, WeCom, ima, QQ Browser, Tencent Maps and QQ Music, which Tencent says have cumulatively served hundreds of millions of users, and the family is now generally available to enterprises and developers through Tencent Cloud. Vendor-reported evaluations include a CpWER 30% below an industry benchmark, diarization error rate reduced from 24% to under 10%, voiceprint matching accuracy of 97%, and a first-token latency of 3-4 seconds for live translation.

   Qi Yuan Robots Connect With Tencent WorkBuddy

   Qi Yuan Robotics and Tencent Cloud announced a strategic partnership to develop cloud-edge-device collaborative consumer robot solutions centered on Qi Yuan’s personal robots and WorkBuddy. According to Qi Yuan CEO Tian Hua, WorkBuddy can interpret natural-language instructions and break down tasks, while Qi Yuan Q1 and T1 robots can use skills including Tencent Meeting, WeChat Reading, QQ Music and picture-book generation.    BYD launches Didi Xia in-car AI agent, starts OTA rollout on Xuanji 2.0 models

   BYD has launched Didi Xia, an in-car AI agent it calls the auto industry's first "AI super agent," and has begun over-the-air rollout to several models built on its Xuanji Architecture 2.0. BYD says the agent combines device-cloud collaboration with multimodal perception, tool, skill and memory systems, plus an open agent platform supporting the A2A and MCP protocols. The rollout covers the Denza Z9GT fast-charge edition, second-generation Denza D9, Denza N8L and N9 fast-charge editions and the Da Tang, with Denza Z9S, Fangcheng S and Seal 08 to follow.

   NIO firefly aster 2.1.0 OTA upgrades Lumo GPT assistant

   NIO's firefly brand said on October 14 that version 2.1.0 of its aster software is rolling out to cars. The update adds microphone karaoke, a vinyl section in QQ Music and resume-position memory for Himalaya and NIO Radio in the cabin, and upgrades the Lumo voice partner's Lumo GPT, which the company says now answers more accurately, explains more clearly and converses more naturally. It also adds an arrival/departure greeting and a tailgate-opening space reminder, and refines guard mode, 2.4GHz/5GHz hotspot sharing and parking-assist prompts during battery swaps.
