  1. Gemini 4 Carbon Tops Intelligence Index, but Access Is Limited

The Rundown AI reports that Google unveiled Gemini 4 Carbon, a frontier model focused on cybersecurity and long-running coding work. The model scored 59 on Artificial Analysis’s Intelligence Index, taking the top position from Claude Opus 5.5, and led 15 of 17 benchmarks in Google’s charts. Its introductory API price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, but access is limited to select cyber defenders and no wider release date was reported.

  2. OpenAI's dot agent reportedly burns 300K tokens a day with no prompts

TechNews, citing a report from The Register, says AI agent security and governance firm Geordie has been continuously testing dot, the always-on personal AI agent OpenAI launched in September, and found it consumes large amounts of tokens even when the user issues no instructions. Geordie AI officer Hanah-Marie Darley said that with only read-only permissions and no connected personal apps, email or Slack, dot generated 155 separate activity sequences and used more than 300,000 tokens in a day, starting agents on its own — running at least a user-facing primary agent plus a background agent that gathers data and can spawn sub-agents as needed. She estimated that dot running on OpenAI's Astra model consumed about 200,000 tokens at roughly US$5–10 per day, and advised companies not to give agents personal information they would not send by email or let them use a personal credit card.

  3. Microsoft exec details Copilot's Home, Code and Autopilot

In a Microsoft-partnered Q&A with The Rundown AI, Microsoft Copilot EVP Jacob Andreou described a rebuilt Copilot organized around three capabilities—Home, Code and Autopilot—pitched as an “OS for work.” Andreou said Microsoft had put Copilot into several Windows apps, then pulled back after finding those entry points brought traffic but little value, and argued current models lack product form factors to unlock their value. He also described Copilot letting users choose a specific model while Auto routes tasks, and said he uses Autopilot as his primary email interface; these are Microsoft-side claims from the sponsored interview.
