   OSChina’s AI Newcomers Program Holds Hands-On Event at Shandong University

   开源中国 reported that its “AI新生派” program held an event at Shandong University’s School of Software on October 23. Co-hosted by 开源中国 and 学新社 with Gitee, 模力方舟 and openKylin, the event combined morning presentations with afternoon exercises covering open-source fundamentals, AI application development, intelligent hardware, model adaptation and open-source operating systems.

   OSChina's ModelFangzhou signs AI cooperation MOU with Manas University

   At the opening of the 2026 China–Central Asia Young Scientists AI Dialogue in Xi'an on October 15, 2026, ModelFangzhou — the open-source large-model public platform run by OSChina — signed a China–Central Asia AI co-building and sharing cooperation memorandum with Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. OSChina vice president and education and innovation ecosystem CEO Li Chen and Manas University representative Dr. Amar Younas took part in the signing. The memorandum is themed "co-build and share, connect the Silk Road with intelligence" and targets China–Central Asia AI cooperation, but the report did not disclose specific projects, funding or timelines.
