Reddit user reports limits of Claude Opus 5.5 for polished game graphics
A Reddit user said Claude Opus 5.5 produced effective low-poly assets and some N64-style graphics, but performed less well when creating content in Blender. They also reported that Tripo generated small asset defects that were difficult to correct, while Claude did not adequately repair those errors; these are one user's unverified impressions.
The post offers a practitioner account of where prompt-driven game-art workflows may require manual editing or specialized 3D tools, though it does not establish a general limitation of Claude.
I'm using Opus 5.5.
It's great at making low poly stuff or emulating some old N64 graphics but not much past that. When I tell it to make me something in Blender it's... not great.
I'm subbed to Tripo, but that has it's own issues. When you give it references it always makes mistakes somewhere and I don't have the skill to edit these small mistakes and fix them myself. Things like mangled toes or a cut off tail on a lizard warrior, I can't do that. But your only option with Tripo is to regenerate which will likely give the same thing.
And handing it over to Claude to fix... not good. Doesn't do good enough.
So I'm curious how people are making their Dark Souls clones, and insane looking Rome walking sims, and crazy dinosaur open world battle games and having them look so good all with vibe coding alone and the only work being just typing to Claude.
How are people doing this?
Bonus question: Should I be using Claude Code instead? I'm working with it in Cowork. How much better is using Claude Code? Maybe that's why it's not going as well as these people?
