Reddit user publishes AI-assisted philosophy course
A Reddit user said they used GPT-6 Pro with Deep Research to draft an initial philosophy curriculum, then had instances of Claude Opus 5.5 and ChatGPT review, critique, and refine it. The resulting project was published as an open-source GitHub repository inspired by Harvard’s CS50 course. The creator said it provides no degree or certificate and acknowledged being unable to fully judge the curriculum’s quality.
The project provides a concrete example of using multiple AI models to draft and refine an open-source university-style philosophy curriculum, while its author explicitly notes limits on quality assurance and academic credentials.
I was inspired by the existence of the CS50 computer science course which is an open source harvard course, to see if AI could create similair open source courses for other things, my personal interest being philosophy I chose to go with that. I used gpt6 pro with deep research to generate the initial report using something along the lines of the following prompt
“Can you do me a favor and spend as much time as you need in order to fully research what a proper high quality university education would entail for philosophy, to create a full proper curiculum"
And afterwards I had various other instances of opus 5.5 and chatgpt review/critique and refine it to more what I would want, however, I wouldn't have made this if I already had enough philosophical education to judge it fully, so I cannot be entirely sure of the quality on some level, but it feels better than just watching youtube videos or other forms of self research. Obviously you wont get a degree or certificate doing something like this, but I still find value in it, and imagine this process, done by an expert, can likely be used for many fields to create something extremely valuable.
