BYD's third-gen Tang to debut giant-screen UI with AI pet desktop
Lu Tian, general manager of BYD's Dynasty sales division, said on Weibo that the third-generation Tang will be the first to carry a new giant-screen UI interaction system, including an AI pet desktop officially named "Xiaomianbao" that the company says can see, listen, greet occupants and respond on demand, with interface windows that can be freely combined and resized. The vehicle is positioned as a Dynasty Series 8 large five-seat tech flagship SUV and debuts twin星际 displays — a 35.4-inch wrap-around ring screen plus a 30-inch panoramic screen — replacing the traditional instrument cluster and HUD. It uses a second-generation Blade Battery with fast charging, comes standard with the "God's Eye B" advanced driver assistance system, claims 850 km of range and a charge from 5% to 70% in 5 minutes at room temperature, and is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter.
Cockpit screens and AI desktop assistants are becoming a differentiator for Chinese flagship EVs, though this preview from a company executive gives few details on what the AI pet can actually do.
