Google restructures adk-recipes repo as single source of truth for ADK agents
A Google Developers Blog post walks through google/adk-recipes, the restructured successor to google/adk-samples that now serves as the single source of truth for ADK content across Google Cloud's Agents CLI, Agent Garden and Gemini Enterprise app. The repo is split into three top-level layers: core/ for reference patterns, plugins/ for installable vertical skills packaged under the Agent Plugins v1.0.0 spec, and contrib/ for end-to-end deployable services, with every recipe shipping a validated manifest.yaml, an AGENTS.md aimed at coding assistants, and for the latter two layers a Dockerfile plus a runnability test enforced by CI. Worked examples include Horizon, a long-horizon reference harness with eighteen behavioural eval rubrics, and a retail plugin whose product-search skill uses Vector Search 2.0 with BigQuery while its virtual-tryon skill defaults to gemini-2.5-flash-image and uses veo-3.1 in Reference-to-Video mode; the skills install into assistants such as Claude Code and Cursor via the npx skills CLI.
It gives developers building agents on Google Cloud one machine-readable source of recipes and makes ADK samples easier for coding assistants to discover and install directly.
