Unitree Q3 profit falls as AI R&D spending increases
Unitree Technology reported Q3 2026 revenue of RMB 665 million, up 69.93% year over year, while attributable net profit fell 17.37% to RMB 113 million. In a 36Kr report citing Caixin, a representative from Unitree's investor relations office attributed the decline mainly to increased R&D spending on computing power and large models. The representative said the quarterly impact was temporary, longer-term effects were controllable, and current R&D spending followed the company's fundraising plans.
The results show that strong revenue growth did not translate into year-on-year profit growth, with Unitree attributing the decline to heavier compute and large-model R&D spending. Its assessment that the pressure is temporary and controllable remains the company's own explanation.
