Column: there is no Personal Agent, only Context plus Agent
A Jiemian News column republished by 36Kr argues that there is no such thing as a standalone Personal Agent, only Context plus Agent: the same agent becomes a Work Agent or a Personal Agent depending on which context it is connected to. The author points to 千问办公's open-source MyContext project, described as turning DingTalk and Feishu chat and collaboration records into a continuously updated work file with traceable sources and timestamps, and says the work/personal line is already hard to draw there. The piece also contrasts US personal agents that run in the cloud, such as Meta Muse and Dots, with Chinese vendors pursuing agent phones, and argues that context — not the model — defines what counts as a correct answer.
The column frames agent capability as a function of context access and authorization, arguing that Chinese work contexts sit inside a few enterprise systems while life contexts are scattered across competing super-apps, which the author says explains why work agents have scaled further than consumer ones.
