Apple's First Robot Targets a 9-Inch Screen and Room Automation
The Information reports that Apple is developing its first robot, code-named J595, with a nine-inch screen mounted on a swiveling arm and a possible “HomeView Ultra” name. The proposed device would use cameras and sensors for tasks such as switching on lights and avoiding nearby objects, while much of its hardware has reportedly been ready for about two years. Software delays and internal disagreement over which features to include could push a planned 2027 US launch, priced around $1,000, into 2028.
The report offers a substantive look at Apple's robotics and embodied-AI ambitions, including the proposed HomeView Ultra product, its autonomous-home features, and the software gap holding up its release.
