Developer builds Claude-powered multiplayer catcopter game

AI summary

A developer on Reddit shared Catcopter, a multiplayer game in which players fly cat-shaped helicopters and fight pterodactyls. The developer says most elements were generated with Claude Opus 5.5, while Fable assisted with networking, server-side physics, and graphics optimization analysis. When Opus 5.5 struggled to produce suitable cat bodies and faces, the developer generated images, used tripo3d to create bodies, and separately rigged the GLB assets with Opus.

In-depth insight

The project provides a concrete, playable example of one developer using Claude across asset generation, animation rigging, networking, physics, and graphics analysis, though its wider impact remains unverified.

Hey everyone! Wanted to share a multiplayer game that I built with Claude. Most of the elements were generated using Opus 5.5. Used Fable for additional optimisations - networking, server side physics and scanning through what could be optimised for graphics. Building the cat bodies was quite interesting. At first, Opus 5.5 had lots of issues with generating cats that are not just circles. Each more advanced body (especially cats' faces - those seem to be harder for some reason) ended up looking pretty hellish. Workaround was to generate images, use them with tripo3d to generate bodies and then rig the glbs separately with Opus (it's great for adding motion to elements).
