How to use Gemini Auto Browse in Chrome: setup, tasks and limits
Google's Gemini Auto Browse lets the assistant navigate websites, fill in forms, compare prices and complete multi-step tasks in Chrome on the user's behalf, but access is limited to eligible Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. It launched in preview for US desktop users in January 2026; Google later added Android support and expanded availability to India on Oct. 7. Per Google's documentation, US personal desktop accounts need to be 18+, run the latest Chrome on a compatible Windows, macOS or Chromebook Plus device, use English as the device language, and have Standard or Enhanced Safe Browsing enabled; Incognito, iPhone and iPad are not supported. Google lists daily request limits of up to 20 for AI Pro and up to 200 for AI Ultra, and says sensitive actions such as purchases, sending communications, changing data and submitting forms require confirmation, while warning about mistakes, unexpected purchases and prompt injection.
It shows browser-based agents moving from summarizing pages to executing multi-step actions, with subscription tiers, daily caps and human confirmation defining real-world limits.
