TestingCatalog reports Google Drive Connector for Gemini Notebook
TestingCatalog reports that Gemini Notebook will soon add Connectors, with Google Drive the first and only one available initially. Users will be able to ask Gemini to search Google Drive files directly from chat and turn the search off if needed. The Connector is described as searching and retrieving documents within a workspace without altering the original files. The report gives no launch date and says more Connectors are expected later.
The reported update would let users search Google Drive files from Gemini Notebook chat, while the Connector description says original files remain untouched. Additional Connectors are expected later, but their timing and scope are unspecified.
GOOGLE 🔥: Gemini Notebook will soon get Connectors! But there is a caveat: Google Drive will be the first, and the only, one available at first. Additionally, users will be able to ask Gemini to search through Google Drive directly from the chat and turn it off if needed. > "You can now search Google Drive files from chat." > Google Drive Connector - "Searches and retrieves documents directly within your workspace. Your original files remain completely untouched." > "Connect your workspace to chat with your files, sync your notes, and automate tasks across your favorite apps." More Connectors are expected to arrive later. I hope we get them faster than 1-5 per year. Soon 👀
