Anthropic donated the Agent Skills open standard to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation, transferring its specification, name, logo, GitHub organization, and domain to community governance. The standard packages reusable work instructions, scripts, and reference materials so compatible AI agents can load them for specific tasks. Anthropic says more than 70 agent platforms have integrated it, with about one million public Skills and 280 million cumulative installations, though these figures were not independently audited.
