Tesla Plans to Begin Customer Sales of Cybercab by End of 2026
Tesla reportedly said on its third-quarter earnings call that it will begin selling the Cybercab to customers by the end of 2026, initially in small batches, as reported by IT之家, cnBeta and DoNews. Engineering vice president Lars Moravy said current production is allocated entirely to Tesla’s own autonomous-taxi fleet, with customer deliveries planned as that fleet expands. The driverless two-seat vehicle has no steering wheel or conventional controls, and the NHTSA is investigating its compliance with US vehicle safety standards.
The planned customer sales would be a material commercialization step for Tesla’s autonomous-vehicle strategy, but external deliveries remain subject to regulatory review.
