AWS Capacity Mostly Booked Through 2027, With 2028 Commitments
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said AWS capacity for 2026 is sold out and 2027 is largely sold out, while a good portion of 2028 capacity is already committed. The Information reports that AWS still reserves capacity for on-demand computing, inference services, Bedrock and EC2, so the statements mainly concern large capacity bookings rather than every available resource. Jassy attributed the strong bookings to continuing demand from AI laboratories and enterprise customers.
The bookings indicate unusually tight AWS infrastructure supply as AI labs and enterprises compete for compute, although they do not mean all AWS resources are unavailable.
