Anthropic Expands GSA Deal With 40% Claude Discount

AI summary

Anthropic and the US General Services Administration expanded a OneGov agreement offering US government buyers a 40% discount on Claude, according to The Next Web. The offer covers Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API across federal, state, local, tribal and territorial governments, with no minimum order and usage-based pricing through January 31, 2029. Anthropic estimated that the discounts would save the government $1 billion, while the agreement replaces its earlier nominal $1 offer for federal agencies.

In-depth insight

The expanded OneGov agreement materially reduces the price of Claude for a broad range of US public-sector buyers and extends its use beyond the federal government.

Anthropic will give US government buyers a 40% discount on Claude under an expanded deal with the General Services Administration (GSA). The company announced it in a blog post on Tuesday, 27 October. For the first time, the discount also covers state, local, tribal and territorial governments.

It applies to Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API. The discount covers token-based usage across all Claude models available to the government, GSA said in its news release. Agencies have no minimum order and pay only for what they use.
