ASUS donates AI supercomputers to a Taipei junior high school
The ASUS Foundation announced it is working with Taipei City's Department of Education and Taipei Municipal Zhongshan Junior High School to build a "World Labs AI" classroom, donating 70 ASUS Chromebook CM32 laptops and two ASUS Ascent GX10 desktop AI supercomputers so the campus can set up its own on-premises AI computing center. Zhongshan Junior High and Taipei's digital learning center will use the machines to build a local AI teaching platform, letting the school run AI lessons and applications without relying entirely on cloud resources while keeping data on site. The classroom will introduce learning modules including an AI interactive game workshop, an "teach AI to read textbooks" training camp, an AI wrong-answer battle arena and "raise an AI from scratch," with students trying to develop their own AI Gems.
According to the report, the on-premises compute lets AI teaching go beyond cloud services into model application, hands-on work and student-built projects, while keeping data security in mind.
