Dartmouth College is building its own AI career-assistance tools rather than buying third-party products, aiming to engage students throughout their time on campus by regularly asking about their interests, skills and goals, according to a Fast Company Chinese edition report relayed by Huxiu AI. The college created a chief product officer role described as unique among Ivy League schools, filled by former Google senior product manager and Dartmouth alumnus Kiley McEvoy; the single platform is to cover job search, alumni networking, interview prep and personalized career options, offering 12 potentially suitable career directions based on student answers. The report notes most US career centers rely on outside tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Big Interview, Big Resume and VMock, and that Dartmouth declined to provide sample outputs, possibly because the tool is not finished or in use.
